Through strategic representation, policy advocacy, industry dialogues, workshops, conferences, and collaborative initiatives, NAPEI continues to serve as a trusted voice for private education in Malaysia.

NAPEI actively participates in various government steering committees, advisory councils, and industry working groups. Through these platforms, NAPEI contributes valuable industry insights, provides constructive recommendations, and advocates for policies that support the sustainable growth of private education in Malaysia.

NAPEI as the Voice of Malaysian Private Education

As a key stakeholder in Malaysia’s education ecosystem, NAPEI regularly participates in consultations, policy discussions, dialogues, and industry development initiatives that shape the future of private education.

Key engagements include:

Recruitment of students from China in collaboration with JPS.
Education promotion initiatives with MATRADE.
Participation in the rating of Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS) by LAN.
Contribution to the IPTS Master Plan (2001–2010).
Engagements with the Minister of Education and senior government officials on private education matters.
Dialogues with the Department of Higher Education (JPT) on key higher education issues.
Studies on the development of public and private education as a contributor to foreign exchange.
Engagements on IPTS admission requirements and regulatory matters.
Submission of national budget proposals and recommendations to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
Active participation in the PEMUDAH IPTS Taskforce and Technical Working Groups on policy, governance, financial sustainability, institutional quality and international recruitment.
Regular engagements with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on institutional sustainability, international students, graduate employability, accreditation and SETARA.
Engagements with the Private Education Division (BPS), Ministry of Education, on matters affecting private and international schools.
Representation to the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) on the economic contribution and development of Malaysia's private education sector.
Participation in the HRD Corp Sectorial Training Committee for Education and Training.
International collaborations with Austrade, the UK Trade & Business Commission and the Association of National and Private Schools (ANPS), Indonesia.
Strategic partnerships with ICDL, Masverse Malaysia and iTrain to advance digital literacy, academic credentialing and professional development.
Collaboration with Tourism Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) to promote educational tourism through EduPlus and international exhibitions.
Representation at more than 70 national and international forums, consultations and industry engagements involving key ministries, government agencies and education stakeholders.
Organisation of Malam NAPEI and the NAPEI Excellence Awards 2024, bringing together more than 240 education leaders and stakeholders.
